PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ignition timing controller of a cylinder injection type internal combustion engine capable of improving an operability and a fuel consumption by properly determining an ignition timing in both uniform combustion mode and a stratified combustion mode to provide a high combustion efficiency. SOLUTION: This ignition timing controller 1 comprises an ECU2 for controlling the ignition timing IG of the cylinder injection type internal combustion engine 3 operated by switching the combustion mode to the uniform combustion mode and stratified combustion mode. The ECU2 determines the combustion mode to be either of the uniform combustion mode and stratified combustion mode (steps 1, 300 to 308, 310 to 317), sets the high coolant temperature correction item IGTWR of the ignition timing IG for uniform combustion to a larger value as the engine coolant temperature TW detected by a coolant temperature sensor 23 is larger, and sets the high coolant temperature correction item IGTWR of the ignition timing IG for stratified combustion to a smaller value than that for uniform combustion (steps 224, 285, 291, 292, 296, 297). |
