PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the structure of a retaining wall, enabling the filling up to a height above that of the upper edge of a wall plate by obtaining a technological means for increasing the earth-pressure withstanding force of the retaining wall constructed by means of a concrete block for an L-shaped retaining wall. SOLUTION: An anchor member extending into the ground at the rear of the wall plate is coupled to the back surface of the wall plate of the concrete block, whereof the retaining wall is constructed, for the L-shaped retaining wall. The anchor member is preferably installed in a multistage manner in the vertical direction of the back surface of the wall plate. According to need, a pile member driven into a foundation is made to pass through the sole plate of the above concrete block so as to prevent the sole plate from slipping in a horizontal direction.
