<p>An interactive desktop system comprising a work surface, a display device, such as a video projector, for displaying images in a first area, a camera, for capturing images in a second area on the work surface, and an image processing system, coupled to the display device and the camera, the image processing system being operable in response to user input to cause capture of an image selected by the user, store the selected image at a predetermined location in an associated memory device (clipboard memory), and to copy the stored selected image into a document at a location designated by the user. The system enables copying from a document laying on the desk into an application (e.g. word processor) running on a computer.
