PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide hinge pipe-type intake facilities which can be visualized, from a distance, that water is taken in from a location slightly below a water surface, and downsize an operating chamber and reduce costs of the facilities. SOLUTION: The hinge pipe-type intake facilities are constructed by connecting a float (5) to an upper portion of a swayingly supported conducting tube (2), and supplying and exhausting air from and to a buoyancy regulating chamber (9) of the float (5). According to the hinge pipe-type intake facilities, the float (5) is provided with the buoyancy regulating chamber (9) arranged at a central portion thereof, and a vacant chamber (10) arranged on the periphery of the chamber (9). The buoyancy regulating chamber (9) and the vacant chamber (10) are separated from each other, and the former is formed higher than the latter. The air capacity of the buoyancy regulating chamber (9) is set such that when water is filled into the major part of the chamber (9), an upper portion of the chamber (9) protrudes from the water surface and at the same time the vacant chamber (10) sinks below the water surface and assumes an intake mode.
