PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cask and its manufacturing method capable of securing a margin for expansion of a neutron shield by a simple work. SOLUTION: This cask 1 is equipped with a barrel body 5, an outer cylinder 6, a resin 13 serving as a neutron shield to shield a neutron in a space 11 divided by heat transmitting fins 10 serving as a heating element, and a structural body 12 provided side by side on at least one side of the resin 13 while forming the expansion space of the resin 13. In this structure, a margin for expansion of the resin 13 can be easily secured by disposing the structural body 12 relative to the space 11 by pasting and disposing the resin 13 relative to the structural body 12.
