PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an efficient pinhole inspecting machine which can accurately inspect a seal defect, while allowing some of the remaining flowing water left at the seal part of a cup-shaped package container (hereinafter referred to as a body to be inspected), and line automated for the inspection. SOLUTION: On the premise that the size of the upper lid of the container be larger than the size of the collar of the container, a voltage is applied by a 1st electrode to the entire reverse surface of the contact part between the upper-lid outside-diameter part of the seal part and the outside-diameter part of the container and a 2nd disk-like electrode is brought into contact with the top surface of the upper lid; and a flash current between both the electrode is monitored to secure the inspection and the influence of fine remaining water left at the seal part is avoided, by making the contact positions of both the electrodes distant to eliminate wrong detections. Thus, the pinhole inspecting machine is provided which meets the actual state and physical quantity of efficient mass-production, by mounting the body to be inspected on a base for inspection, when the operation for inspection principle is lined and automated.
