PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information retrieval system by which anyone can easily obtain a target information. SOLUTION: This information retrieval system having a portal site linked with a plurality of sites on the Internet 10 is provided with a plurality of different relevant portal sites 31 and 33 providing information belonging to a category related to districts. The individual portal sites 31 and 33 are mutually composed, for instance, of respective pieces of local information in each different prescribed theme in the same category, have the same image constitution and are respectively provided with a click button for switching to the other related portal site. Shift can be made to the optional related portal sites 31 and 33 by operating the click buttons 34.
