PURPOSE: A self-diagnosis apparatus of an image signal in a liquid crystal display(LCD) device is provided, which can detect an abnormal operation of a receiver part and a scaler part and also can detect whether a specific bit of R,G,B signal is abnormal. CONSTITUTION: The apparatus comprises a diagnosis transmitter part(280), a switching part(290) and a display part(232). A micro controller(230) outputs a switching control signal indicating one of a self-diagnosis mode and a normal operation mode, and outputs digital R,G,B signal and a control signal to the transmitter part if the switching control signal is the self-diagnosis mode. The transmitter converts the digital R,G,B signal and the control signal into analog R,G,B signals. The switching part is installed between the transmitter part and the receiver part in a PC(200). The scaler part converts the digital R,G,B signals from the receiver part into signals appropriate for a resolution of an LCD panel. The display part compares the R,G,B signal from the transmitter part with the R,G,B signal from the scaler part.
