PURPOSE: A monitor screen adjusting device and a method thereof are provided to reduce the calls to an after sales service center from users by displaying an image even if a resolution not supported by an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) module is inputted. CONSTITUTION: A monitor screen adjusting device comprises a microcomputer(10) discriminating a video mode depending on the frequency of horizontal and vertical synchronizing signals and outputting a control signal to process signals corresponding to the video mode, a PLL(Phase Locked Loop)(20) generating a clock pulse, an A/D(Analog to Digital) converter(30) sampling R/G/B(Red/Green/Blue) video signals transmitted from a body and converting the R/G/B signals to digital R/G/B signals, a screen converting unit(50) compressing the 8-bit digital R/G/B signals converted by the A/D converter and converting the signals into video signals displayable on a screen by a signaling process, a scaler(60) signaling the digital R/G/B signals into video signals displayable on the screen, a switching unit(40) selecting the scaler or the screen converting unit with response to the control signal from the microcomputer, an OSD(On Screen Display) unit(80), and an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) module(90) displaying video signals selectively output depending on the switching signal of the switching unit. Therefore, images are displayed by processing video signals even if a resolution not supported by the LCD module is inputted.
