PURPOSE: The hepatitis B virus vectors for the gene therapy are provided, therefore a liver cell can be selectively treated by transferring a gene for the gene therapy using the vectors. CONSTITUTION: The circular hepatitis B virus plasmid vectors contain alpha-element having the nucleotide sequence of SEQ ID NO: 1 and beta-element having the nucleotide sequence of SEQ ID NO: 2 which are cis-acting elements necessary for the replication of HBV genome, in which the circular vectors contain an initial promoter of cytomegalo virus, DR1 element, epsilon element, alpha-element, DR2 element, beta-element and DR1 element.
