PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving method, through which relatively uniform gradation display is obtained for a display device, having pixel display characteristics that the affected by the film thickness of an insulating layer, and to provide a display device having large errors in the thickness of ribs. SOLUTION: In a display device, pixels Aij are constituted of plural first electrodes (cathode electrodes or the like) Kj (j= integers 1 to n), plural second electrodes (gate electrodes or the like) Gi (i= integers 1 to m) and an insulating layer between the electrodes Kj and the electrodes Gi. During the selection interval of each second electrode Gi, electric charges are injected into the electrode Kj and the potential of the electrode Kj is set to the potential corresponding to the insulating film thickness of the pixel Aij and then, the electric charges are injected into the electrode Kj, corresponding to the display luminance of the pixel Aij.
