PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent dirt and dust from sticking to the end face of an optical connector, when a connector plug is removed from an adaptor, and also to prevent light emission from the end face of the optical connector. SOLUTION: At the tip end of the connector plug 20, a protector 40 is provided which covers the end face 12b of a ferrule if the connector plug is detached from the adaptor 30 and which uncovers if attached to the adaptor 30.
