PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an external wall joint structure and a work execution method of an external wall joint capable of satisfactorily holding the quality of an appearance by suppressing the displacement of an inplane shear. SOLUTION: A pair of wall panel members 12 are stackingly installed between the external walls of a pair of building units 11 and 11 of a unit building 10 disposed adjacent to each other at positions moved backward a specified distance from an external wall edge 11b to provide a joint part 13 formed of both side edge parts 12a and 12a of the wall panel members 12 butted to each other apart a specified distance (w) from each other. A wooden spacer 8 is inserted between the external wall edges 11b and 11b of the joint part 13, and a plurality of pair of nails 6... are installed aslant on the right and left sides so as to extend from one external wall edge 11b side through the wooden spacer 8 to the other external wall edge 11b to fix the spacer so as to show a cross-shape in top view.
