PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bus system and its bus arbitrating method which can make higher the bus use efficiency of a bus system using a high-speed slave device like an SDRAM. SOLUTION: This bus system includes a stage (a) where a bus request is received from at least one master device and the use of an address/control bus is arbitrated by specific arbitration algorithm, a stage (b) where an access command packet including information for preparations for data transmission is received from the master device via the address/control bus exactly in the order of the arbitration result, a stage (c) where the transmission preparation completion of corresponding data is received from a slave device, a stage (d) where the master device is notified of data transmission, and a stage (e) where data are transmitted via a data bus.
