PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high speed pure oxygen combustion assist burner for an electric furnace capable of performing a high efficiency operation using liquid fuel and enhancing the productivity of the electric furnace. SOLUTION: A high speed pure oxygen combustion assist burner for an electric furnace 11 is formed with the triple layer structure of a liquid fuel jetting pipe 12 comprising a cutting oxygen gas jetting pipe 13 and a combustion oxygen gas jetting pipe 14 in sequence from the center part, wherein an orifice part 13a jetting the liquid fuel at a high speed and the cutting oxygen gas for vaporizing is arranged to the edge part of the cutting oxygen gas jetting pipe 13, and a swirl vane 16 further agitating and mixing the mixed gas of the vaporized liquid fuel and the cutting oxygen gas and the combustion oxygen gas is arranged in a ring form space 15 formed by the outer circumference of the cutting oxygen gas jetting piper 13 and the combustion oxygen gas jetting pipe 14.
