PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reforming method for an ended ring capable of easily conducting reforming work for an ended ring 1, uniformly reforming the whole periphery of the ended ring 1, and preventing the occurrence of reverse- reforming. SOLUTION: In this reforming method for the ended ring 1, one end part 2 of the ended ring 1 and the other end part 3 are arranged side by side in the axial direction. When with one end part 2 of the ended ring 1 or its vicinity gripped, the ended ring 1 is inserted in a reformed part 11 such as an outside diameter restraining pipe or the like, the other end part 3 of the ended ring 1 goes over a baffle part 14 provided on the inner surface of the reformed part 11 so that the ring is displaced backward in the insert direction to one end part 2, and the ended ring 1 is inserted in a tapered ring insert part 12 provided on the inner surface of the reformed part 11, whereby the diameter of ring can be reduced as a whole.
