PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device which can prevent electric short circuit between a counter electrode and a pixel electrode by the spacer formed on the surface of a color filter. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device 40 has a first substrate 43 prepared by laminating a TFT circuit layer 1, insulating layer 2, pixel electrode 3 and alignment film 10 in this order on a transparent substrate 4, and a second substrate 44 prepared by laminating a color filter layer 5, spacer 19, counter electrode 6 and alignment film 11 in this order on a transparent substrate 7. The pixel electrode 3 has a through hole 3a in the region opposing the spacer 19. |
