PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical semiconductor device easy to assemble, inexpensive to produce, and simple to handle. SOLUTION: The device is equipped with an inserting part 2-1 in which an optical connector plug 1-1 is inserted, a housing case 6-1 having at least a storing part 5 for storing an optical semiconductor element 3 which is to be optically coupled with an optical fiber 1-OF, a shutter 8-1 anchored rotatably with a shaft 9-1 in the front of the inserting part 2-1, and a leaf spring 13-1 which pressurizes the revolving shaft of this shutter 8-1 and which opens and closes the shutter 8-1 correspondingly to the attaching and detaching of the optical connector plug 1-1.
