PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an iron cover for a manhole, capable of smoothly sliding a display frame for displaying a control number in a horizontal direction and bringing efficiency to an operation by lightening the burden imposed on an operator at a job site. SOLUTION: The surface of the iron cover 1 for the manhole is formed with a horizontally oriented fitting recessed part 1a fitted with a plate 5 for display. The plate 5 has a slide groove 5a whereinto the plural display frames 6 are fitted in a only horizontally slidable state, an inserting recessed part 5b installed in a recessed manner at one end of the slide groove 5a, and a stopper 5c fixed detacbably to the plate 5 in such a state as to be fitted into the recessed part 5b. The display frames 6 within the slide groove 5a allow display parts 6a to be exposed outside in an upward direction for the purpose of enabling a readout.
