CASCADE FILTRATION SYSTEM OF SERUM FOR ANIMAL CELL CULTURE

PURPOSE: Provided is a novel cascade filtration system of serum for animal cell culture. In the preparation of the serum for animal cell culture, the pore size of the filter is getting smaller stepwise as the filtration step proceeds so that the system has excellent sterile filtration and fast flow rate. The method is used in economical filtration and in highly efficient purification of the serum for animal cells culture with a proficient capability of cell culture. CONSTITUTION: The cascade filtration system comprises: step one in which the filtration is carried out one time by the positive Zeta charge glass fiber resin filter with 1.0μm-1.2μm pore size to eliminate bacteria and fungi; step two wherein the filtration is carried out one time by the hydrophilic polyvinylidene fluoride resin (PVDF) filter with 0.2μm-0.5μm pore size to eliminate bacteria and fungi completely; step three where big size bacteria and most mycoplasma are eliminated filtering one or two times with 0.1μm PVDF filter; and forth step wherein 0.04μm-0.1μm double nylon 6,6 membrane resin filter is used one time to eliminate the small virus and remaining mycoplasma.
