PURPOSE: An overhead message update by distributed control is provided to minimize power consumption and save a bandwidth by performing a communication of an overhead message in a wireless communication system for providing an access as to a distributed network. CONSTITUTION: An overhead message is changed in a BS(Base Station)(302). A signature about the changed overhead message is generated in the BS(304). An MU(Mobile Unit) wakes up and listens(306). The BS transmits the signature to the MU(308). The MU receives the signature(310). The MU retrieves a previous signature from a memory(312). The MU compares the received signature with the previous signature(312). If the received signature is different from the previous signature, the MU maintains the wake state, and listens for receiving a message(316). The MU changes an operation parameter for efficiently communicating with a system. |
