PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device by which an excellent image is obtained by accurately detecting the rear end of a sheet. SOLUTION: A pass detecting means 11 to detect the sheet P fed to a transfer nip part N and a width detecting means 21 to detect the width of the sheet P fed to the transfer nip part N in a direction orthogonal with a sheet feeding direction are respectively provided on the upstream side of the transfer nip part N formed because a transfer member 5 abuts on an image carrier 1 carrying a toner image in the sheet feeding direction, and either the pass detecting means 11 or the width detecting means 21 is set as a rear end detecting means based on a detected signal from the pass detecting means 11 and the width detecting means 21 by a controlling means 30. Then, transfer bias is switched from first transfer bias at the time of transferring the toner image to the transfer member 5 to second transfer bias after transferring the toner image based on the detected signal of the rear end from the rear end detecting means by the controlling means. |
