PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water base ink composition which has excellent jetting stability with least foaming and, in addition, can sufficiently increase printing density and is easy to handle. SOLUTION: The water base ink composition comprises at least a surface modifying pigment which is dispersible and/soluble in an aqueous medium without using a dispersing agent, an organic amine compound to be represented by formula (A) or formula (B) (wherein R1 to R6 are each independently a hydrogen atom, a 1-8C alkyl or hydroxyalkyl chain which may be branched, provided that at least one of R1 to R3 is a 3-8C alkyl or hydroxyalkyl chain which may be branched), and water. |
