PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel anthracycline antibiotic substance that is useful as a carcinostatic agent, the method of producing the same and a microorganism producing the same. SOLUTION: The anthracyclinee antibiotic substances according to this invention are HU2-705A, HU2-705B, HU2-705C, and HU2-705E. A microorganism in Streptomyces, capable of producing these antibiotic substances, is cultured and the antibiotic substances are collected from the culture mixture. The micro- organism that is capable of producing these antibiotics is typically Streptomyces violaceus HU2-705 strain (FERM P-17986).
