PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the mechanism of a boarder coating machine where a pretreating unit and a boarder-making unit are supported on a main frame in such a manner that they can move between a working position and a non-working position, and power is transmitted from the main frame side via a clutch which can connect or disconnect the main frame to the pretreating unit and the border-making unit. SOLUTION: (1) The pretreatign unit 6 and the boarder-making unit 7 are supported on the main frame 2 in such a manner that they can move between the working position and the non-working position by means of a link-shaped swing arm 8 and a guiding pin 14 which is protruding from a clutch 13 placed on the side of the pretreating unit 6 and the border- making unit 7 so that the guiding pin 14 can move along a guiding hole 10 formed on a guiding board 9 fixed on the side of the main frame 2; and a curved part is formed on the guiding hole 10 so that when the pretreating unit 6 and the boarder-making unit 7 move to the working position, the clutch 13 placed on the side of the pretreating unit 6 and the border-making unit 7 is allowed to face and approach a clutch 12 placed on the side of the main frame. (2) When the pretreating unit 6 and the border-making unit 7 are moved from the working position to the non-working position, or from the non-working position to the working position, they are moved in an almost parallel manner to the main frame 2 by controlling the circular arc motion of the swing arm 8 with keeping the guiding pin 14 in the guiding hole 10.
