PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a conjugate yarn having a low specific gravity, capable of floating on the surface of water, and having excellent properties (strength and elongation, weather resistance and abrasion resistance) also suitable for an industrial material use. SOLUTION: This conjugate fiber comprises a polycaproamide or a copolyamide comprising a caproamide unit and a hexamethyleneadipamide unit, as a sheath component, and a polymethylpentene as a core component, regulated so that the weight proportion of the polymethylpentene may be 30-50 wt.%, and the fiber may have <=1.03 specific gravity and >=4.5 cN/dtex line strength.
