PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide liquid reagents for measuring nonesterified fatty acid (NEFA), stable for a long period, and to provide a method for measuring the NEFA, capable of simply and accurately measuring the NEFA by using the reagents. SOLUTION: This solution containing coenzyme A (CoA) is compounded of a chelating agent, such as diethylenetriamine-N,N,N',N",N"-pentaacetic acid (DTPA), triethylenetetramine-N,N,N',N",N''',N'''-hexaacetic acid (TTHA), and 0,0'-bis(2- aminoethyl)ethylene glycol-N,N,N',N'-tetraacetic acid (EGTA) as a CoA stabilizer, wherein the solution containing the CoA is used as a first reagent of the liquid reagents for measuring the NEFA. The other solution containing acyl coenzyme A oxidase (ACO) is compounded of an anionic surfactant in such an amount as effective for stabilizing the ACO, preferably, together with flavin adenine dinucleotide (FAD) in such an amount as effective for stabilizing the ACO and, more preferably, further with N-ethylmaleimide (NEM) in such a manner that the solution is controlled to have a pH effective for stabilizing the NEM, wherein the solution containing the ACO is used as a second reagent of the liquid reagents for measuring the NEFA. A kit for measuring the NEFA is composed of the first reagent and/or the second reagent, and the method for measuring the NEFA comprises using the kit.
