PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyester film for a decorative metal plate excellent in hot water resistance and chemical resistance and having a deep hue, while holding excellent transparency, heat resistance and antistaining properties of the film. SOLUTION: The polyester film for the decorative metal plate comprises a biaxially oriented film comprising polyester, and the refractive index in the thickness direction of the film is 1.492 or less, and the fusion sub-peak temperature in a DSC curve thereof is 220-235 deg.C. This film satisfies formula (1): 0<=I(1-10)/I(100)<=0.07 [wherein, I(1-10)is X-ray diffraction intensity due to the (1-10) surface parallel to the surface of the film and I(100) is X-ray diffraction intensity due to the (110) surface parallel to the surface of the film]. |
