PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of suppressing staining of a recording medium due to mist by preventing ink drops from flying by becoming the mist in a flushing region. SOLUTION: An ink receiving piece 29b is brought into close proximity to a part of a nozzle face 20a to be opposed thereto when a recording head 20 is positioned above an ink receiving recessed section 28a. Four rows of nozzles are formed on the nozzle face 20a in a main scanning direction (direction of arrow Y). For example, two rows of nozzles which are on the nozzle face 20a at the side of a conveyance passage 27 are opposed to the ink receiving piece 29b. In the case where ink drops are ejected from all the nozzle of the recording head 20 by the flushing in this condition, the ink drops ejected from the two rows of nozzles on the nozzle face 20a are received by the ink receiving piece 29b. As a result, it is possible to prevent ink drops ejected from the two rows of nozzles from flying by becoming the mist. |
