PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a continuous paper printer capable of consistently carrying a continuous paper without generating any unnecessary slack in a forward stage of a transfer unit even when carrying the continuous paper having no sprocket holes. SOLUTION: An auxiliary carrying means (28) switchable in a forward/reverse direction is provided, and a control means (22) is provided for controlling the auxiliary carrying means so as to carry the continuous paper (7) by a predetermined quantity in the reverse direction to the printing direction before the printing.
