PRODUCTION METHOD FOR VINYL ACETATE POLYMER AND ITS SAPONIFICATION PRODUCT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a vinyl acetate polymer which exhibits few fish eyes and suppressed coloration and odor emission in molding and which, even when recycled, exhibits few fish eyes and suppressed coloration in molding; and a method for producing a saponification product of the polymer. SOLUTION: This polymer is obtained by polymerizing vinyl acetate alone or together with another unsaturated monomer and then adding at least one compound selected from among cinnamic alcohol, cinnamic acid, and their derivatives to the resultant polymer.
