PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrostatic ink jet head, and its manufacturing method, which can be sealed with a highly reliable material and in which cooling water or cooling liquid can be prevented from intruding into an air gap at the time of dicing even when a high fluidity sealing material is used by receiving it easily in an opening. SOLUTION: In the electrostatic ink jet head where a drive voltage is applied between a diaphragm constituting a part of a liquid chamber for containing ink and a discrete electrode, the diaphragm is deformed by an electrostatic force and ink is ejected while being pressurized by the resilient force of the diaphragm, an opening 21 reaching from the surface of a liquid chamber barrier wall 9 between a discrete electrode pad part 6 being applied with the drive voltage and the liquid chamber 10 to an air gap 3 between a counter electrode and the diaphragm 7 is made in the liquid chamber barrier wall 9 and intrusion of liquid from the discrete electrode pad part 6 to the air gap 3 between the counter electrode and the diaphragm 7 is prevented by filling the opening 21 with sealing materials 22, 23.
