The invention relates to a method and a device for controlling the motion of a pointer (m) on a virtual screen (3), connected to a communication unit (11), by employing a touch screen (15) integrated in the communication unit (11). The control is achieved by the user of the communication unit (11) switching the communication unit (11) in a so-called pointer control mode. Hereby a pointer transportation area (19), a normal activation area (21), a memory activation area (23) and a termination area (25) on the screen (15) of the communication unit are presented. The user moves the pointer (m) on the virtual screen (3) by means of touching the pointer transportation area (19) in the desired direction, in which the pointer (m) is to be moved. The normal activation area (21) is employed for activation of a particular function of the communication unit (11) or for storing a position on the virtual screen (3) so that a marking of a particular area on the virtual screen (3) is performed. The memory activation area (23) is employed for storing a position on the virtual screen (3). The termination area (25) is used when the communication unit (11) shall leave the pointer control mode and return to its initial mode. |
