PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an additive that can highly efficiently and safely remove sulfur oxides (SOX) by neutralization from an exhaust gas produced when a fossil fuel is combusted, more particularly, from an exhaust gas produced when a sulfur-containing fuel is combusted in, e.g. a boiler. SOLUTION: A combustion exhaust gas from a fossil fuel is neutralized by adding an additive comprising an aqueous solution of magnesium hydrogencarbonate or calcium hydrogencarbonate to the fuel, the combustion air, the flue downstream of the combustor, or the like. |
