PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control system for a vertically moving rack device improving handleability and operability by being compatible with two kinds of modes in the case of desiring to move a vertically moving rack of the vertically moving rack device vertically to an upper limit position or a lower limit position by one operation of a switch and in the case of stopping and vertically moving slightly at a position in the middle of the vertical moving. SOLUTION: In the vertically moving rack device 100 provided with a cabinet body 101 opening its bottom end, a vertically moving rack 102 supported in this cabinet body in a vertically movable state, a driving device A for moving the vertically moving rack up or down, operation parts 109A and 109B for instructing moving up or down of the vertically moving rack and a control part 3 for performing the operation control of the driving device, a timer circuit 4 for counting the operation time of the operation part is provided. When the operation time is within a prescribed time set in advance, the vertically moving rack can be operated manually, but after the lapse of the prescribed operation time, the rack is operated automatically.
