PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmission device also serving as a brake for a bicycle, capable of performing double control for manually operating an inner transmission and an inner brake and operating them by depressing the brake by a foot. SOLUTION: This transmission device also serving as a brake for a bicycle has two types of brake actions of power input in the opposite direction of a foot brake and a manual brake. A power input tool 11 in an opposite power input path pushes an opposite output slide ring 111 horizontally in the opposite direction, and the foot brake is meshed and interlocked with a direct internal gear. An interlocking slide ring 9 is horizontally pushed and moved through an intermediate ring 6 by the action of the meshing part on the output end of the internal gear and an opposite detent 65 on the input end outer edge of the intermediate ring 6 and meshed with the annular disc 3, and the brake action is generated. Therefore, the whole mechanism and power transmission path are precisely simplified, and the brake action is quickly generated.
