PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of gravure printing which enables use of a phase change ink not containing a solvent of strong toxicity such as toluene and is friendly to living things and an environment of living and which provides a high printing speed and can be put into practical use sufficiently. SOLUTION: Liquid phase-change ink 8 stored in an ink tray 4 kept at a high temperature so that the phase-change ink 8 be held liquid is applied to a plate cylinder 1 through the intermediary of a furnisher roll 5. Excessive phase-change ink 8 being scraped off by a doctor, the phase-change ink filled in cells formed on the plate cylinder 1 is transferred for printing to a web 7 to be printed which is passed between the plate cylinder 1 and an impression cylinder 2. Then, the phase-change ink transferred to and printed on the web is exposed to cool air blown from a cool air device 6 to be solidified rapidly.
