PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the cost of a motor fixing device in a recorder. SOLUTION: In a recorder arranged such that a carriage moves in the main scanning direction on one face side of a recorder body frame 14 up to a part thereof being fixed with a carriage drive motor 13, the part being fixed with the carriage drive motor 13 is formed as a member integral with the frame 14 so that the fixing means of the carriage drive motor 13 does not interfere with the moving track region of the carriage.
