PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mold constituted so as to prevent the generation of burr rising from the data recording surface of a data recording disk substrate, and the data recording disk substrate made of a resin molded thereby. SOLUTION: The mold for molding the data recording disk substrate made of the resin is equipped with a fixed mold (1) and a movable mold (2), and constituted so that a cavity (3) capable of molding the data recording disk substrate is formed between both molds when the molds are closed. A molding surface (2-1) for molding the data recording surface of the data recording disk substrate is formed to at least one of the fixed mold (1) and the movable mold (2). In this mold, a stepped part (2-2) protruding into the cavity is provided on the outer peripheral side of the molding surface (2-1) of at least one of the fixed mold (1) and the movable mold (2).
