The tube top cover (1) has an open transverse penetration, which rests in the discharge region of the tube shoulder. Above the open space the top has an intermediate base onto which a casing is molded, its inner side closely fitting over a peg. An independent claim is included for the method of manufacture. The body (3) is first pressure injection molded. The mold is separated, the tube body remaining held on one half. This half approaches a further mold component. Two slides within the mold, form the free space in the top (1). They close on and surround the discharge region. The top is then injected-on as a second part of the tube, onto the shoulder of the previously-injected tube body. The slides, and then the mold halves, separate. The finished tube with added top is then ejected. Preferred features: The outer end of the tube cover (1) extends to the end of the shell. An edge is formed leaving a circular groove (5). This closely fits the outer edge forming the tube discharge nozzle. The inner casing of the cap is grooved, to fit complementary splines on the peg; they are capable of interlocking together. Further variations based on the foregoing principles are described. |
