The invention relates to a display device (1) for an emergency release device (2) for spring-loaded brakes (4), especially for rail vehicles. Said display device is used to acknowledge the actual state of the spring-loaded brake (4) for a manually operated activating device (6) pertaining to the emergency release device (2). Said activating device is coupled to the spring-loaded brake (4) by means of a mechanic power transmission element (8). The display device (1) and the activating device (6) are arranged at a distance from the spring-loaded brake (4) and are thus easily accessible. The mechanic power transmission element (8) is also used for the tellback of the information on the actual state of the spring-loaded brake (4), and can furthermore activate the display device (1), enabling a correct and reliable display at all times. The invention also relates to a spring-loaded brake (4) comprising one such display device (1).
