The tobacco bales (11) are transported on a conveyor belt. Two longitudinal cuts (12) are made in opposite sides of the bale, followed by two transverse cuts (13) in the other two sides. This forms a continuous cut so that the upper part of the packaging (10) is lifted off the bale. The lower part of the packaging is removed by transporting the bale on the conveyor and retaining the packaging. The removal appliance has one or more cutters (14,15), one or more conveyors (16), and a first pull-off element (20,21,22) located above the top of the bale. |
