PREPARATION METHOD OF 2-HYDROXYALKYL(METH)ACRYLATE

PURPOSE: A method for preparing 2-hydroxyalkyl(meth)acrylate is provided, to improve the production yield and to separate and reuse a reaction catalyst easily by using an ion exchange resin as a catalyst. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises the steps of reacting acrylic acid or methacryl acid with ethylene oxide or propylene oxide in the presence of an ion exchange resin as a catalyst. Preferably the ion exchange resin is a strong basic ion exchange resin or a strong acidic ion exchange resin. The strong basic ion exchange resin is such that the active group is quaternary ammonium type I or II and is in the shape of gel, porous gel or macroporous one. The strong acidic ion exchange resin is such that the active group is sulfonic acid. Preferably the reaction temperature is 65-95 deg.C.
