PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely and easily remove impurities such as wood, vinyl, seaweeds and fishes from jellyfishes without depending on manpower when jellyfishes separated from sea water are treated in sea water intake equipment installed in a thermoelectric power/nuclear power plant, an iron mill, a petroleum refining plant, a petrochemical plant and a chemical plant. SOLUTION: This impurity removing device is provided with at least of a dissolving tank 1 for dissolving jellyfishes with sea water, an introduction means 2 for introducing impurities separated from sea water and jellyfishes with sea water into the dissolving tank 1, a heating means 3 for heating jellyfishes with sea water within the dissolving tank 1 and dissolving and liquefying the jellyfishes, a suspended matter removing means for removing impurities floating on the surface of water from jellyfish dissolved solution, a deposits removing means 5 for removing impurities deposited at the bottom part of the dissolving tank 1 from jellyfish dissolved solution and a discharging means 6 for discharging jellyfishes dissolved solution from the inside of the dissolving tank 1.
