In the preparation of maps or charts for patterned navigation over a geographical area, it is common to prepare them manually. This typically involves the use of rulers, protractors, and calculator s. This can be time consuming, stressful, and error prone. This invention provides a device, which facilitates the preparatio n of charts quickly, consistently, and accurately, without the nee d for other tools or calculations. In this device a single sheet of semi rigid material is manufactured with the applicable navigat ion patterns affixed to it, and holes drilled to outline key point s for the patterns, providing a template. The device can be confi gured for any type of navigation pattern, using any scale of map, for land, sea, or air navigation missions.
