PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make constant high direct-current voltage outputted from a step-up transformer. SOLUTION: Negative resonance voltage V2 outputted from the secondary side of an insulating converter transformer PIT constituting a compositely resonant switching power circuit is inputted to the primary side of a step-up transformer HVT through a series resonance capacitor C3. Further, the inductance LR of an orthogonal control transformer PRT-2 whose controlled winding NR is series-connected with the primary winding N4 of the step-up transformer HVT is varied and controlled through a control circuit 2, so that the high direct-current voltage EHV outputted from a high voltage generating circuit 4 can be made constant.
