PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an armature for dynamo-electric machine and a manufacturing method thereof capable of improving ease of inserting a winding assembly into slots and insulating properties. SOLUTION: This manufacturing method consists of a process of forming roughly U-shaped insulators 11 having end outward openings 11a formed by bending the front ends of both sides thereof outward with regard to respective outward bending parts 12, a process of forming winding assemblies 7A, 7B, 7C produced by forming wire 6 in a prescribed coil, a process of attaching the insulators 11 to respective slots 5a so that the end outward openings 11a may extend from the opening in the slots 5a, and a process of inserting the winding assemblies 7A, 7B, 7C from the openings in the slots 5a into the insulators 11 guided by the end outward openings 11a and pressing and inserting the winding assemblies 7A, 7B, 7C into the slots 5a together with the insulators 11.
