PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form minute recording pits in a magneto-optical recording medium by MSR(magnetically induced super resolution) method by forming sharper temperature distribution of the laser spot which irradiates the medium. SOLUTION: The medium has a first dielectric layer 2, magnetic layer 3 for recording and reproducing, conductive film 6, magnetic layer 4 for generation of a magnetic field, and second dielectric layer 5 successively laminated on a light-transmitting substrate 1. The conductive film 6 and the magnetic layer 4 for generation of a magnetic field are formed by continuously laminating the layers.
