PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical pickup assembly having a structure in which the moving part is made light in weight so as to have a high speed following-up ability suitable for an optical recording/reproducing device of high multiple speed and high density, and in which the secondary resonance frequency of the moving part is turned into a high frequency range. SOLUTION: The optical pickup assembly includes a base; an objective lens consisting of a lens part for converging incident light and a body for functioning integrally with the lens part; a suspension which, with one end fixed to the body and with the other end to a holder, supports the objective lens freely movably; a coil member installed on the side of the objective lens body; a permanent magnet provided on the base in a manner opposing to the coil member; and a yoke for guiding a magnetic flux generated from the permanent magnet.
