PURPOSE: A method and device for synchronizing nodes in a heterogeneous computer system is provided to realize a frequency adjustment of a high precision for a node synchronization capable of being used in a non-uniform memory access(NUMA). CONSTITUTION: A node(100) includes four CPUs(102,104,106,108), a local memory(110), an input/output channel(112), and a communication channel(114). A node(120) includes four CPUs(122,124,126,128), a local memory(130), an input/output channel(132), and a communication channel(134). A node(140) includes four CPUs(142,144,146,148), a local memory(150), an input/output channel(152), and a communication channel(154). An external disk drive(156) is connected to the input/output channel(152). The nodes(100,120,140) are connected therewith using high speed channels(116,136). The system includes a single address space having the memory banks(110,130,150). The CPU(102) may access the memory(110) at high speed without using the node interactive connections(116,136). The CPU(102) may not access the memory(130) at high speed because data must be transmitted through the communication channel(116).
